Thoughts and issues that guided us in the design and implementation of the Stripa strap:
How can something be both flexible and rigid?
How stiff does a watch strap need to be to handle the watch well while running?
How flexible does the watch need strap to be so that you don't take it off while doing yoga?
How stable does it need to be to avoid having to constantly adjust it while driving?
How comfortable does it need to be so that you forget to take it off at bedtime?
Everything has to fit exactly.
By the time the product is born, we are so far removed from the initial problems that there is nothing left but sheer functionality, unobtrusive operation, unmanaged existence. And yet, this simplicity looks amazing.
This is Stripa.
How does the Stripa strap work?
The starting point. The strap needs to be flexible to be able to adapt to changes in wrist size during the day.
Traditional watch straps often struggle to adapt to the natural changes in your wrist size throughout the day, leading to discomfort as they become too tight or too loose.
We’ve tackled this issue with our innovative double-loop design, which flexibly accommodates shifts in wrist circumference, ensuring a consistently comfortable fit. Whether you're active or at rest, our strap adjusts with you, providing reliable support and comfort all day long.
The human hand changes, expands and contracts. The circumference of the wrist can change by up to 10mm in a day. The amount of change depends on body fat percentage, fluid intake and ambient temperature. It shrinks in colder weather and expands in warmer weather. Stripa can track +/-8mm circumference changes with the same amount of tension, which means you'll feel the same from morning to night, whether you're exercising or sleeping.
The second point. To enable you to effortlessly fine-tune the strap to your wrist size.
We haveve integrated an anti-slip layer between the strap’s contact surfaces. This innovative layer keeps the strap securely in place, allowing for a perfect fit that feels practically weightless on your wrist.
With this design, your watch stays exactly where you want it, offering a level of comfort and stability that feels almost unnoticeable, no matter how active your day gets.
The third point. The strap needs to be rigid not just flexible.
The third point to consider: the strap must be not only flexible but also rigid. Flexibility ensures the strap adapts comfortably to your wrist, but rigidity is equally important to provide consistent support and stability. A rigid strap structure prevents unwanted shifting and maintains the watch’s position on your wrist throughout the day. This balance between flexibility and rigidity ensures that the strap feels secure and stable, adapting to your movements without compromising comfort or style. In other words, you get the best of both worlds: a strap that moves with you but holds its form when it matters.
The Double-loop system is inspired by traditional Velcro and elastic textile straps, but with a streamlined twist: instead of using separate metal clasps, we cleverly use the watch’s lug as a fastening point. This lets us treat the watch itself as the buckle.
The elastic quality of the strap means you can simply slip it over your wrist, allowing us to design Stripa as one seamless, unbroken piece. With this design, we've removed the need for bows, buckles, and loose ends – eliminating all distractions for a cleaner, minimalist look. This is a fundamental shift from typical two-part watch straps.
The forth point. Give effortless Comfort. Take care of your skin.
Watch straps made in a plane exert a force on the wrist due to the bending. As ergonomic as they are, they require force to bend and although this force is very small for the best straps, it is felt when the wrist is turned 180 degrees. Because the Stripa's rigid strap section is designed for a wrist arc, it does not exert any bending force on the hand. In addition, the comfort factor is further enhanced by the Stripa comfort layer. This towel-like layer softens the differences between the Stripa and the individual wrist arch. This makes the watch unnoticeable on the hand. All the while, it provides amazing stability while mountain biking, running, squash or any sporting activity that can be bumpy.
With other watch straps, movement causes the watch to loosen, which is often uncomfortable and annoying when exercising. Stripa, however, releases the tension energy of the elastic strap through movement, so instead of wobbling, shaking and loosening, the watch fits even more snugly on the wrist. The amount of tension is always in direct proportion to the amount of vibration. This is what makes your watch a truly professional sports watch.

I tried to push Arnie and the strap hard recently.
After 2 months of heavy usage in summer conditions, heat(39-40 Celsius), strong sunshine, sweat, sea water, even in tropical rain, It still works perfectly. No discoloration, it’s not lose at all, it holds the watch on the arm well. Same as on the first day. Amazing work!
